Istanbul is home to many international young professionals working and studying in various areas of international relations. There is a need to build partnerships among this group to facilitate the creation of new ideas and approaches to solving the many challenges that lay before the global community. The Hollings Center created a Young Professionals in International Relations (YPIR) networking group to meet this need.
The series aims to bring together young professionals from academia, think tanks, diplomatic missions, civil society, and the private sector to help build a network that will have impact on the international relations community in Istanbul and the broader region. By bringing together young professionals from multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural backgrounds, the Hollings Center hopes to promote dialogue and further understanding and cooperation among a broad range of young professionals working in the field of foreign relations.
The YPIR network involves regular meetings that bring together select key young leaders from the different sectors to discuss current topics in world affairs, usually featuring a speaker to spur roundtable discussion in an intimate setting. Speakers include civil society leaders, business professionals, diplomats, academics and journalists.
