مدن ذكية ومستدامة

لعلّ ازدياد لجوء المدن من حول العالم إلى استخدام البيانات والتقنية لتحسين البنى التحتية الحضرية وتعزيز جودة حياة سكانها أدى إلى الخروج بحلول مبتكرة للتحديات التي تواجهها البلديات ودفع هذه الأخيرة إلى البحث عن أفضل الطرق لإيجاد بنى تحتية اجتماعية واقتصادية شاملة. يدّعي مؤيدو دمج التقنية والبيانات في المدن، أي ما يُعرف بمصطلح "المدن الذكية"، أنّ لذلك القدرة على إحداث تحوّل في كيفية التصدي للتحديات المنهجية وتحسين حياة المواطنين. غير أنّ إنشاء "مدن ذكية" لا يخلو من حصته من تضارب الآراء، وبخاصةٍ في ما يتعلق بإنشاء بيئات حضرية تتّسم بالعدل والاستدامة. فكيف يمكن للتقنية أن تتصدى بشكلٍ أفضل للتحديات التي تواجهها المدن؟ وكيف يمكن للبيانات أن تعالج المفاهيم الخاطئة؟ هل يمكن للمدن الذكية أن تعزّز مستقبلًا مستدامًا ومنصفًا؟ أم أنّ في هذا المفهوم مبالغةً؟
